Overview

Smart gel water plugging agent is a selective water plugging product based on special polymers, which forms glue in water but it is dispersed in oil. By injecting the fluid system into the plugging section without moving the tubing, the fluid system is controlled to form colloid under the formation temperature and set time. Under the condition of formation temperature, the fluid system will form a colloid with certain strength when it encounters formation water or water channels, but it will not produce colloid when it encounters oil or oil channels. The system can maintain a long-term effective strength under the condition of formation water, so as to achieve the goal of selective water plugging in the formation.

Implementation case: The depth range of the layer is 500-800m, the average porosity is 24%, the average permeability is 385mD, and the physical properties are good. From the perspective of reservoir type, most of them are block bottom water reservoirs with local interlayer development, large water volume, and active edge and bottom water. The main production layer is shut in due to excessive water content. The oil-water relationship in this area is relatively complex, and continued production will increase the complexity of waterline advancement. After the selective water plugging technology is implemented in the two Wells, the oil increase effect is obvious, and the water content is reduced, the average oil increase is about 70%.
